After Tex Avery's departure from Warner, studio cartoonist Bob CLAMPETT hit upon the idea of creating Tweety. This cute, seemingly innocent little canary spent most of his time teasing poor Sylvester the cat, whose one goal in life was to eat Tweety!
Famous for his catchphrase "I thought I taw a putty cat" and his deceptive innocence, Tweety would be definitively teamed up with Sylvester by Friz Freleng, who created nearly all the cartoons featuring the duo.
Today, "Tweety and Sylvester" have become an all-time cartoon classic.
